Before opening Anima Therapy, I worked as a volunteer therapist at The Monastery's Sanctuary of Peace & Healing in Gorton, Manchester.
My approach is primarily informed by person-centred theory. The aim of PCT is not to direct or diagnose, but to invite you to draw on your own intuition and self-knowledge to illuminate the way forward. This means attending to the emotional processes unfolding in the here-and-now with empathy and acceptance.
I also have an interest in psychodynamic and psychospiritual frameworks, and allow these to influence my own therapeutic philosophy. I am fascinated by dreams, shadow work, and the way in which listening to the unconscious can shed light on the transpersonal as well as our own hidden depths.
As Jung wrote: "In each of us there is another whom we do not know. He speaks to us in dreams and tells us how differently he sees us from the way we see ourselves."
